Our Ursa Ed programs bring the beauty of musical performance to the
next generation. Presentations include live performances, visuals and
audience participation breaking the material down in a way that is easy to
understand, stimulating for the imagination and most importantly, is a fun
and inspiring experience for everyone!
Designed and performed by the string members of Chicago’s Ursa
Ensemble, these presentations are crafted by artists who are dedicated
educators as well as serious performers. Students and teachers are guided
through a journey of sound from different eras, genres and cultures
exploring traditional and new sound effects, and learning how music can
relate to emotions, nature, art and so much more. The students will also be
encouraged to use their active listening skills, imagination and even empathy to relate to how the composers may have felt when writing the selected pieces.
“Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning.”
